Microsoft is hiring a software designer who previously worked at Google and is developing video game-like video games for the company’s Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 console.
John D. Lewis, a Microsoft software engineer, has been hired as a technical advisor for the software giant, the company said in a statement.
Lewis will develop video games with Microsoft Studios for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PlayStation3.
He has worked with Microsoft on projects such as Xbox Live Arcade, the online multiplayer gaming platform.
Microsoft is also hiring a video game programmer for a software development team, Microsoft said.
Microsoft has been heavily invested in virtual reality, and it recently hired former Google executive Marc Benioff as a senior software engineer.
